let's close our eyes & pretend this night'll never end. -- saturday morning, my greens eyes blinked open, scanning the room. warm, golden light spread into my room through my windows covered with gauzy curtains halfway open. it was about ten, a bit later. my room was a bit messier than usual - there were yesterday's clothes lying in a pile next to my hamper & anything that was in my hand ended up on my nightstand (keys, phone, chapstick). i threw the covers off of my thin body covered in a long nightshirt & panties & sat upright, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. i reached over an grabbed my phone off of the charger, checking my messages. one from mom. me & dad went out of town for the weekend. call if you need us. they were always going out of town & staying with family. nowadays, it happened more frequently with my grandma sick down in mississippi. another weekend all alone.
-- i got out of bed & picked up my clothes. with a quick look in my vanity's mirror, a sighed. a vanished out of my room & returned about fifteen minutes later, dripping wet. my dad hated that i didn't completely dry off before walking around on the hard-wood flooring, but he wasn't here. i liked the chill i got as the water evaporated off of my bare skin. bare besides the freckles. i slathered on lotion & quickly dressed, excited to start my day. i was planning on going to the lake & take some pictures with a few different cameras. i ran my fingers through my strawberry blonde hair, taking some of the tangles out. as long as it was, it covered my breasts, it dried pretty swiftly. i didn't put on any make-up, my complexion looked fine today. i did, however, slide on some chapstick to soothe my constantly chapped lips. before leaving the house, i grabbed three cameras. they happened to be my favorites, though i didn't plan it. a lomography 35 mm, a fish eye 35 mm, & a vintage polaroid. i was grinning with anticipation of getting some good shots.
-- when i got to lily lake, (i always smiled when i thought about the name, ya know, 'cause my middle name's lily) i parked and hopped out the car, hurriedly heading towards the main area. there were picnic benches scattered along the plot. there was a good bit of large trees, no leaves but plenty of snow in the branches. the sun was in a great spot. i grabbed out a camera. lomography 35mm. after loading the film, i snapped a good bit of pictures. i find beauty in everything, even trees with no leaves to be found. sooner rather than later, i went through an entire roll of film. good thing i brought plenty of rolls. i chuckled softly, completely enjoying myself.
